  1. Wash the mushroom and dry them with a clean cloth. Cut them into two eaual chunks and keep them aside. Arrange all ingredients in one plate for quick access when preparing the main dish.
  2. Take a wok and add initially 2 tablespoon of sunflower oil. Add the ¾ of onions cut and keeping rest onions separate, and saute the ¾ onions until it changes colour and turns soft. Now add all the spices including coriander seeds, dry red chillies, black pepper corns, cloves into the pan masala and saute for 5 minutes for more.
  3. Add grated coconut and saute it on low flame till it changes it's colour to brown, switch off the gas. Now add the tamarind ball and turmeric powder to the roasted grated coconut mixture, stir and let the same cool down.
  4. Once same is done, just grind the grated coconut mixture by adding 1½ cup of water to make it as a thin gravy and then keep it aside.
  5. In the same wok we now heat remaining 1 tablespoon of oil and fry the remaining ¼ of the chopped onions. Saute it till the onion change it's colour.Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook it till the tomatoes becomes soft.
  6. Now add the chopped mushrooms and cook it for 20 minutes till they becomes soft and releases water. Now pour the grinder gravy in the mixture and cook it for 5 minutes. Add garam masala and then add salt according to taste and mix it with chopped fresh green coriander leaves.
