Make ready 2 medium onions
Get 8-10 cloves garlic
Take 1 Big chunk of ginger
Get 2 green chillies
Take 4-5 tsp red chilli powder
Take 1 tbsp turmeric
Prepare 1 tbsp black pepper powder
Get to taste salt according
Prepare 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
Prepare 2 big scoops of gram floor
Get 3 packets buttermilk
Take 4 tbsp curd
Make ready 1 black cardamom
Prepare 2 cloves
Take As required Mustard oil (amount you need to sauté everything)
Prepare Note: Keep buttermilk and curd at room temperature for entire night
Instructions to make Kadhi/Karhi (Without Pakoras):
Chop all the vegetables as shown below. But cut green chillies from middle.
Now in a pan or bowl Blend Buttermilk, curd, turmeric, salt, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, coriander powder, and gram flour together
Now in a pan add Mustard oil. Turn the flame to high. Wait till it changes it colour.Now add Black cardamom and cloves.
Now add green chillies. Then add ginger and garlic let it turn golden brown and then add onions wait for it to turn golden brown.
Now add buttermilk mixture and also same amount of water and mix it really nicely. Let it come to boil and then simmer the flame and let it cook for 2-3 hours but keep stirring in between.
Now your Kadhi is ready. (It should be slightly thick but not to thick). You can serve it with roti or rice.
