Take For koftas:
Prepare 2 cups soaked moong dal
Take 1/2 inch ginger
Make ready 5-6 green chillies
Get 2 tbsp chopped coriander

Take 1 tsp jeera

Take For gravy:
Get 3 Onions
Take 4 tomatoes
Take 1/2 inch ginger
Get 5-6 black peppercorns
Take 4-5 cloves
Get 1 tsp coriander seeds
Take 7-8 cloves garlic
Prepare Red chilli powder as per taste
Prepare 1 tsp haldi powder
Make ready 11/2 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
Take 1 tsp garam masala
Make ready 2 tbsp chopped coriander
Prepare 1 tbsp coriander for garnish
Steps to make Moong Dal Kofta:
For koftas: Take the soaked dal which was washed and soaked for 4-5 hrs. In a grinder add soaked dal, green chillies and ginger and make a coarse paste.Remove in a bowl.
Add chopped coriander, chopped mint,jeera, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, grated carrot, finely chopped cabbage and oats.
Mix everything well and make koftas in appe pan.
Keep flipping so that it gets cooked nicely from all sides.Remove and keep aside.
For gravy: In a grinder add chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, garlic, ginger, cloves, black peppercorns, coriander seeds and make a smooth puree.
In a kadai take 2 tbsp oil and add puree and saute till raw smells goes off. Add haldi powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and mix well and cook till oil floats. Add 2 cups water and let it boil. Add chopped coriander and let it boil for 5 mins.
Then add the koftas and cook for more 5 mins. Garnish with some chopped coriander. Serve with chapati… (Dont make the gravy too thick as when you add koftas it will absorb the gravy and it will become thick)
