Hello everybody, it’s me, Dave, welcome to our recipe page. Today, we’re going to prepare a distinctive dish, naan. It is one of my favorites. For mine, I’m gonna make it a little bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Naan is one of the most favored of current trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes yummy. It’s appreciated by millions daily. Naan is something which I have loved my entire life. They are nice and they look fantastic.

At grill side, roll one ball of dough out into a thin circle. This naan recipe is deceptively easy to make, and baked under the broiler. You can spice it up by adding garlic, or leave it plain.

To get started with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can cook naan using 8 ingredients and 13 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Naan:
  1. Make ready maida (all purpose flour)
  2. Take salt
  3. Get oil
  4. Get sugar
  5. Take warm milk
  6. Make ready instant dry yeast
  7. Get Additional water of kneading
  8. Prepare Additional maida for dusting

This naan is from the New Vegetarian Epicure. With just four ingredients and no yeast, it is simple to mix up, but it is so soft and flavorful I figured I'd add it to the many recipes already posted. Using a skewer, gently pry the bread off the tandoor wall, taking care not to scratch the clay. Brush the top of the bread with ghee or melted butter, then place in a cloth-lined basket for serving.

Instructions to make Naan:
  1. In a bowl, add dry mixture together i.e. 1 cup maida & pinch of salt.
  2. In a small bowl, mix 2/3 tsp. instant dry yeast, 2/3 tsp. sugar & 4 tbsp. warm milk. Mix it well & rest it for 10-12 minutes.
  3. After 10-12 minutes, a frothy mixture will be formed.
  4. Add the yeast and sugar mixture to maida & mix well.
  5. Work the mixture with hand. Add more water if the mixture is dry. Work it till it forms a smooth dough.
  6. Cover the dough with samp cloth & rest it for 1 hour.
  7. You will see that dough has doubled up. Punch the dough to release air from it & break the dough into 3 small sized dough & again cover it with samp cloth for 15 minutes.
  8. Once ready to cook the dough, dust the surface with some maida & roll the dough into round shape with thickness about 1/4th inch.
  9. While rolling you can also add some finely chopped coriander leaves.
  10. Heat a iron cast pan on a medium flame. Roast the naan on one side for 20 seconds.
  11. Flip the naan & roast it on another side for 50-60 seconds till it's almost cooked.
  12. Remove the pan & roast the naan directly on the flame on both sides till it's cooked & some charred marks appear on it.
  13. Remove from the heat & spread melted butter over it and serve immediately with your favorite curry.

Remove the naan from the skillet, brush with a bit of butter and sprinkle with a little coarse sea salt. Place the naan in a tea towel-lined dish. Repeat with the rest of the naans and serve. Naan is a traditional flat bread from India, while pita bread is eaten in the Mediterranean and Middle East. Pita is made with a very simple dough, using just flour, salt, yeast, and olive oil, while naan dough has ingredients like yogurt and egg that help keep it soft and fluffy.
